I caught this Sandhill Crane just out of frame from 3 others doing a courtship dance by tossing a clump of grass which was followed with a bow and then that loud distinctive call that many folks can hear from up to a mile away. Such a wonderful bird. Behind the cranes, a parade of tundra swans floated behind. Even though the weather has not indicated that spring is here in earnest, the arrival of the cranes, geese, and swans is a great indicator that summer is right around the corner.
