Comet NEOWISE over the face of Montana's iconic Sleeping Giant, near Helena Montana. . I was dreaming of this shot as soon as it made its surprise visit this year. I am glad the shot when I did, because I do not think it is possible to line the two of them together this way again for another 6,800 years - the time it takes this 3-mile wide chunk of ice, rock and dust to travel around the sun. Happy trails to this cosmic wanderer - you have brought me and so many others happiness when we needed it most. . . Would you like to see Comet Neowise? Luckily it is pretty darn easy - it's visible with the naked eye, a simple telescope or pair of binoculars can reveal more details, especially when it is seen after twilight in the evening. Just look towards the northwest horizon, below the big dipper, away from city lights an hour or two after sunset and you'll see it. I recommend it . It should be around for the rest of the summer, although its closet approach to Earth is expected on July 22, when it will be at its brightest. Happy star gazing
