Camas blooms in the early summer pastures of the historic Mule Ranch located along the slopes of Mt. Haggin in Southwest Montana. The ranch was used by the Anaconda Copper Company to raise and rehab mules for work in the nearby mines. Today the property is part of Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks' ~56,000 acre Wildlife Management Area that provides for year-round habitat for wildlife and to provide public outdoor recreational opportunities.
