Earthquake Sky (panorama)
A vibrant sky at sunset looms over Helena Montana.
Some are calling the dramatic sunset a few hours before the 5.8 magnitude quake that rattled western Montana, July 6, 2017 at 12:30 a.m., an 'earthquake sky' as reported in The Montana Standard.
Interestingly a similar vibrant sky reportedly occurred just before Montana's largest known and most deadly earthquake - the 1959 magnitude 7.3 Hebgen Lake earthquake in Yellowstone National Park. This has led some folks to believe that brilliant colors in the sky may be harbingers of significant tremors.
