The Auspice

What a wild night last night!?! A reminder that mother nature always has some unexpected tricks up her sleeve.
Southwest Montana was hit yesterday with a combination of extreme heat, wind, and thunderstorms that accompanied severe wildfire danger. That is what I tried to capture here in this image of Helena's historic fire-tower as a lightning storm rolled in.
However the surprise of the evening would be a 5.8 magnitude earthquake that shook most of us out of our beds and left us in a state of bewilderment. Tipping my hat to you Montana for always reminding me I am at the mercy of your true and untamed nature.
